Abstract
As 5G networks continue to roll out globally, they promise to revolutionize industries with faster speeds, lower latency, and the ability to connect billions of devices in real-time. However, with these advancements come significant cybersecurity challenges. The expanded attack surface, the reliance on software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV), and the increased use of edge computing all present new risks that traditional security measures may not adequately address. This article examines the unique cybersecurity risks inherent in 5G networks, including vulnerabilities in the supply chain, data privacy concerns, and the potential for more sophisticated cyberattacks. Additionally, it explores strategic approaches and best practices for securing 5G networks, focusing on both technical and organizational aspects.
