Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare systems has introduced groundbreaking advancements in patient care, diagnostics, and operational efficiency. However, it has also exposed these systems to new and evolving cybersecurity threats. This paper explores the role of AI in both defending against and contributing to emerging cybersecurity challenges in healthcare. A detailed literature review highlights AI's dual role as a defender and a potential vulnerability. Methodologically, the study adopts a qualitative approach to assess the effectiveness of AI-driven cybersecurity measures. The findings reveal that while AI significantly enhances threat detection and response capabilities, it also creates vulnerabilities that require strategic mitigation. This study emphasizes the need for robust AI-based cybersecurity frameworks to ensure healthcare system integrity.
